“Amaravati Quantum Valley is designed to position India at the forefront of hybrid quantum-classical computing across life sciences, materials discovery, cryptography, and AI.”
AMARAVATI (YUVA 9 Bureau): Anchoring its vision to build a next-generation deep-tech ecosystem along the Krishna riverfront, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has partnered with IBM, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to establish the Amaravati Quantum Valley.
At the heart of the complex will be an IBM Quantum System Two powered by a 156-qubit Heron processor—making it one of the most advanced quantum computing installations in the Indo-Pacific region. The system is engineered to run utility-scale quantum circuits alongside classical high-performance computing clusters.
Under the multi-institution framework, TCS will drive hybrid quantum-classical algorithm development and industry use cases across pharmaceuticals, supply-chain optimization, energy grids, and financial cryptography, while L&T will construct the specialized vibration-isolated, cryogenic-ready facility.
Aligned with the Government of India's National Quantum Mission, the Amaravati Quantum Valley will also integrate academic training centers, including a dedicated NIELIT Quantum & AI campus and deep-tech startup incubation funds to train thousands of quantum software and hardware engineers.
